Pool Heat Pump Installation Guide
Installation of a pool heat pump is much easier than you may think. A Level base can be made from patio block or concrete. The pool heat pump is fully outdoor rated and should not be covered. It must sit one foot away from any wall and can also be wall or stand mounted. We recommend building a bypass valve using 3 sets of ball valves, this allows you to service the unit if needed while keeping the water flow to the pool filter going. It also allows you to optimize the flow ensuring the heat pump does not affect the required circulation of the pool/filter system. All plumbing can be done using a hack saw and PVC glue making this a great DIY project. Wiring should be done with a service disconnect near the heat pump. Use the chart below for breaker and wire sizes.
